Connection Using a Quick Connector

The quick connector consists of three components:

  • Pin/Stud with an element inserted into the slot
  • Sleeve with internal thread
  • Set screw (grub screw)

The advantage of this connection is that it requires no threading and allows easy access to the fasteners. The quick-release coupling enables a sliding connection, which allows for dimensional adjustments in the designs.

To create the connection, a hole must be drilled for the internally threaded sleeve. Fit a milled pin onto the second profile with a groove; this is inserted into the drilled profile along its axis so that the milling on the pin is aligned with the axis of the threaded sleeve. The connection is secured by tightening the set screw, which pushes the pin towards the sleeve.
